"The ear is drawn to spectrally rich transformations and variants of locally produced acoustic sounds that are heavily supported with gestural affordances and visual fixity. The ambiguity between acoustic and electroacoustic materials is allocentrically fascinating. In particular, you are to be commended for your focus and commitment to achieving autocentrically arresting and emotionally impacting musical sounds in situations that are both technically demanding, and subject to the rigours of live performance. Overall, a project of outstanding quality". Bardo for prepared trapset review by DR John Coulter Sonic Arts director at Auckland University

I regularly perform in the field of avant-garde music playing electro acoustic instruments and drum kit. In 2011/2012 I formed the avant rock groups ‘Plastic Sheep’ and ‘Baby Took My Dingo’. I am a member of the improvising collective ‘Vitamin S’ and ‘Cannibal Dogs’ and  the experimental music trio 'Bone Unit'.

My solo audio/visual performances (see photo above) are an ongoing exploration of 'modular synaesthesia' using invented/re-purposed electronic and acoustic percussion instruments to generate rich sonic material. The intention is to simultaneously create multiple timbres and pitches from the single source of me playing live and manipulating the resultant sound output live. The visual element of the compositions are effected by the sounds I produce.

I have performed with artists such as Yukie Sato (Japan) Steve Beresford (London), Clayton Thomas (Berlin), Phil Dadson (NZ), Jeff Henderson (NZ), Drew McMillan (NZ), Lover’s Goat II (Hong Kong), 3 Shades Black (Melbourne), Casey Gsell (USA), Bulgasari (Korea), Kieren Hebden (Four Tet), Robin Rimbaud (Scanner), Christopher Horne (Christ/Boards of Canada), Robin Guthrie (Cocteau Twins), Noah Lennox and Josh Dibb (Animal Collective), James Leyland Kirby (VVM), John Wilson (Frog Pocket) Bjorn Hatleskog (Romvelope/ADAADAT) and Matt Wand (Stockhausen and Walkman).
